Prin-Ya means a custard shop in Japanese.
Prin-Ya Custard was created to introduce Japanese style baked custard (flan), which has been one of the most beloved desserts in Japan. In doing so, we made several pledges:
1. To be environmentally conscious. Our custards come in reusable and recyclable glass jars. Some of our ingredients are purchased at the local refill store to reduce excess packaging.
2. To use as much locally-sourced ingredients as possible. For our non-vegan baked custards and cream puffs, we use local eggs and local milk. Also we purchase cacao powder and various teas from local companies. During the season we use fruits from local farms.
3. To be a part of community. We would like to give back to the community, without whose support we can not exist, and be a contributing member. At occasions we run a fund raiser and donate a part of sales to charity organizations.
